Top Chef March 12!

Last night's Project Runway: Mostly, I can't believe that Ricky makes his own hats. He's so annoying. It's even more annoying that he won, though I can't begrudge him too much, especially since winning doesn't mean immunity anymore, so he didn't actually win anything. I'm glad Victorya is out because I found her rigid and uninteresting, and I don't think I ever really loved anything she made (as Jillian actually made that coat). I loved the "Christian is annoying" montage. But I thought all the fashions were, well, not that exciting, though I am not a fan of denim as such, so YMMV.

So this guy Ricky wears a hat all the time, every day. But he isn't like, losing his hair or anything, and the hats aren't that interesting, so it's a weird thing. And he's already annoying, so it's just another annoying thing about him.

Like, did he even make the generic white trucker hat? Surely not, right? But then he was like ME WITH THE HAT MAKING!!! and that's what he was wearing, so what does that mean when you love hats so much that you make your own but then wear that thing all the time? The whole thing is just sort of weird.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Heidi's "What's up with you?" It was just perfect and delightful and I would have only been happier if she'd looked at him and given him a "what the fuck?"

I think he made that black and white hat though. The sort-of-tam. Can you even make a trucker hat, since it's all plastic? Ugh.

Christian's one of my faves this season, he makes me laugh. He can totally be annoying. But he's young and cocky, and I think a lot of it is just for his persona. It certainly makes him stand out from the crowd.

He is annoying without actually annoying me, yeah. He's more sort of ridiculous and very young, but at least he isn't aggressive about it.

Watched it for the first time yesterday because they were showing a bunch of episodes. I dreamt about making clothes all night long!

The awesome thing about this show is that it's really about the clothes and not about the personalities or whatever. They include that, but it isn't how anyone gets voted off. And you can see the clothes so you can also judge for yourself. Plus, so many of them are designers and haven't sewed in a long time, so they get a good concept but aren't sure how to realize it. Fascinating.

I haven't watched yet but reading that Ricky makes his own hats is both the most hilarious and most believable thing I've read today. IT EXPLAINS SO MUCH!
