A day on, and an unexpected surprise.
So for those of you not in the US, today we celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday. I find that I don't have anything to add to the really lovely posts I read for the holiday today, though I did watch Boycott on HBO today. Earlier I wanted to write a very grouchy post about how I felt that a lot of people were taking advantage of my good nature and that I was taking in all this negative energy and had no place to put it, that people were complaining to me about mutual friends all the time which was draining, and I'd had about enough. But then I got the loveliest email—truly, probably one of the kindest emails I've ever received—and all of that other stuff just fell away. (And no, it wasn't from someone I felt grouchy about, and yes, I'll let them know this directly.)
So, no grouchiness here, not even about going back to work tomorrow. Except, another reason it's good to be Canadian is that you get to be on HGTV.
