Suggestions for Dan Radcliffe

So I watched the bizarre Martha Stewart interview with Dan Radcliffe this morning, featuring her stuffing him with french toast, her odd obsession with his ability to shave and her assumption that he is JKR's boytoy, all of which he of course handled with poise and good humor.

Then one of the older kids in the audience asked him what other roles he wanted to play when he was done with the Harry Potter films. Instead of saying "Hamlet" (as he should have) he talked about the film he's about to start. So [livejournal.com profile] tromboneborges and I have some suggestions:

Hamlet
Lear
Stanley Kowalski
Coriolanus
Tevye
Harold Hill
Willy Loman
Tom Collins
Oscar Madison
Bernardo
Javert
The Misanthrope
Body #1 on CSI Miami
Prince Myshkin
Curly McLain
Nathan Detroit
Pippin
Skimbleshanks, the Railway Cat
Daddy Warbucks
The new assistant DA on Law and Order: Criminal Intent

It's a very rare British actor who can successfully do the American accent thing see also: Hugh Laurie), so I'm sort of thinking that he'll have to stay in British theatre. I can totally see him as the next Bond, though.

Body #1 on CSI Miami

This is my dream role.

Pfft. Body #2 is where it's at.

Huh. I always thought Stripper #7 was the hot role.

Sorry, what? My brain has shut down after imagining Dan stripping.

"Snidgets an' crups an' kneazles better flee us,
When I take you up on my Nimbus,
When I take you up on my Nimbus
With the twigs...all cropped!"

It doesn't really rhyme (or scan), but it amuses me still.

Stelllllllaaaaaaa!

ROFL Skimbleshanks? I'd always thought of him more as the Mr. Mistoffolees (sp?) but I like Skimble.

How about Mr. Darcy?

[identity profile] skg.livejournal.com 2005-12-20 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
How about Sweeney Todd?

Also, possibly the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz
