I am currently 3-for-3 in the who's out. (That first week, I gave people just one guess.) I'm rarely right, and it isn't as though I'm feeling this season is so predictable, really. This seems to go along with my not really hugely hating anyone on the show this year. I mean, Danny's irritating, but in a way I can tolerate.
I was disappointed that the group number was pre-taped, though since they were singing to those Motown tracks and therefore lipsynching their own vocals it was understandable. Still, it didn't give me what I want from a group number, and I feel that if it was going to be pretaped they should have had silly costumes for that Sonny-and-Cher-Variety-Hour feel.
Ruben was great—good to see him—but I love that they positioned him such that Ryan didn't talk to him for very long. None of those awkward "so what have you been doing for the last six years" questions. I hope they do the same with Taylor, not because I dislike him (though I do) but because at least Ruben's first record sold well. Three down, four to go.
Smokey and Joss were great, but Stevie's medley was ultimately a little pointless, much as I love seeing him under any circumstances whatsoever. Let's please focus on 70s Stevie and not 80s Stevie, shall we?
( Right, so the results. )
Thoughts?
